Visa Extension

• Vietnam visa is a visa approved by the Vietnam Immigration Department for foreigners who are allowed to stay for a short time in Vietnam for the purpose of Travel - Working - Visiting relatives - Investment.
• Types of VietnamVisa Việt Nam: 1month; 3 months. Foreigners choose visa period to apply depending on the purpose of the trip.  
• According the Vietnam Immigration Departmen’s regulationz, foreigners who have their visa expired, but still want to stay in Vietnam for a longer period, they must apply for visa extension.

The time requied to extend visa  may vary on each specific subject and case.

Instructions for applying for a Vietnam Visa extension

Documents:

Individuals or organizations can extend Vietnam visa by their own at the Immigration Department

Required documents:

1. 01 application form for granting, amending visa, extending temporary residence (certified by the guaranteeing agencies); the case visiting relatives will be required police confirmation of ward or commune where they temporarily stay) ;
2. Orignal Passport
3. Vietnam Visa that is about to expire
4. Certificate of temporary residence issued by police department at wards or communes where foreigners are temporarily staying.
5. 1 notarised copy or 01 copy (with the original for comparison) of documents proving the purpose of staying in Vietnam (depending on specific cases, the following documents will be provided: Business registration certificate / License investment, work permit, marriage certificate, birth certificate…)

Time rquired for approving application

• The time the Vietnam Immigration Department approves the application for Vietnam visa extension for the purpose of Tourism - Business - Visiting - Visa - Investment exemption ... is within 7-10 working days (excluding the Saturday, Sunday, public holidays, New Year holiday).
